ABOUT THE MERCEDES G63 AMG 6X6 ENGINE
The G63 AMG 6x6 is a special-edition off-road vehicle produced between 2013 and 2015, based on the W463-generation G-Class. It uses the M157 — a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 shared with the standard G63 AMG of the same era, as well as AMG versions of the S-Class, CLS and E-Class. The 6x6's engine is mechanically identical to the standard G63's M157, delivering 544hp through a seven-speed automatic transmission to all six wheels. The G63 AMG 6x6 is no longer in production, but we continue to rebuild and replace engines for every one still on the road.
