Unlike the V8-powered AMG GT 63 and GT 63 S, the AMG GT 63 S uses the M256 — a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine with mild-hybrid assistance. This is a different engine family from the M178 V8 used in the first-generation C190 cars, and it's also distinct from the V8 M178 found in the current R190 GT 63 models. The M256 is a sophisticated unit with integrated starter-generator and electric auxiliary compressor, delivering strong performance while maintaining efficiency.
